Billboard Music Awards - 2013 Chart-topping artists join Prince as live acts for May 19 broadcast on ABC; tickets go on sale April 4 Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars, who have all topped the Billboard 200 in the past year, as well as critically acclaimed R&B stylist Miguel, are each set to perform at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, airing live on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 19. They join previously announced performer Prince, who will be honored with the Billboard Icon Award during the broadcast, produced by Don Mischer and sponsored by Chevrolet and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. In addition to performing, Bieber, Miguel, Swift and Mars are each up for the new fan-driven Milestone Award. As reported earlier this week, Billboard and Chevrolet have teamed up to give fans the chance to vote for their favorite artist online and enter a contest to win an opportunity to present the award live at this year’s event alongside Cee Lo Green. The Band Perry and Pitbull are also up for Milestone honors. Voting is now open on Billboard.com/milestone. At last year’s event, Adele dominated with twelve awards, including Top Artist, while LMFAO followed with six nods. The show featured over 15 live performances from some of the biggest names in music, including Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Usher, and resulted in a ratings win for ABC, attracting its second-largest audience since 2003. Billboard Music Award tickets go on sale tomorrow, April 4 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, and will be available at MGM Grand and Ticketmaster locations. The show will air Sunday, May 19 at 8/7c on ABC. Stay tuned for more announcements on musical acts and presenters.

L.A. County Sheriff recommends Justin Bieber be prosecuted.

justin-bieber-prosecuted Justin Bieber will be prosecuted for allegedly spitting on a neighbor ... at least if the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. gets its way. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Sheriff's investigators will refer the case to the L.A. County District Attorney for review after the investigation is completed, and the Dept. will recommend that criminal battery charges be filed against the singer. Officially, the Sheriff's Dept. will say they have no recommendation yet because the investigation is not complete. However, our sources say a clear picture has already emerged, and not just over the alleged spitting incident. We're told members of the Dept. believe it's relevant Bieber has shown a pattern of disregard for the law, including speeding tickets, fights, threats, reckless driving, drugs and more. Law enforcement sources say it's a cookie-cutter situation they've seen before -- small crimes that escalate over time to serious criminal conduct. Now the lil twist ... whether Justin is prosecuted or not, people in the Sheriff's Dept. believe he needs professional help to manage his anger and behavior. And they say, it has nothing to do with the fact that he's famous -- anyone going down a "dangerous path" needs serious professional help. Source: TMZ.com

Selena Gomez Makes It Clear She Doesn’t Want Bieber Back; Admits To Making Him Cry

Selena Gomez Selena Gomez 3 Selena Gomez Don’t mess with Selena Gomez. During an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” Monday night, the actress admitted she made ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber cry. “The last time he was on, he and I got into a conversation and he said something and then I said something and then he said something and then I said something and I made him cry,” host Letterman said. Gomez burst out laughing before quipping, “Well then that makes two of us.” The 20-year-old also revealed that she’s doing “so good” and is happily single but not dating yet. The pair split last November blaming busy schedules and long periods away from one another. Shortly after their break up, Bieber told Billboard magazine, ”I’m not in the happiest place that I’ve ever been. I’m trying to get through what I’m going through….[but] I have my really close friends to cheer me up and keep me going.” Gomez is currently promoting her new film “Spring Breakers” in which she stars alongside Vanessa Hudgens.
